Overview

A Registered Dental Hygienist contributes to AHF’s mission by providing Periodontal services to our patients which contributes to their general health and wellness.  They also provide Oral Hygiene Education which is essential as Periodontal Health allows our patients to eat and maintaining their nutrition as well a take and be adherent to their medication regimens.  This is all done with a friendly and helpful face to patients. Under the direction of the Dental Director at AHF, the Registered Dental Hygienist provides dental hygiene services to our patients.

As a Registered Dental Hygienist your responsibilities include: providing comprehensive periodontal care to our patients include dental cleanings, full mouth debridement, scaling and root planning and periodontal maintenance procedures,  You are responsible for taking radiographs at the recall visits and updating periodontal probing,  You will also use the dental laser as necessary to improve outcomes.  You will work with the Dentists to determine the appropriate interval patients will need during the year for their next visits. You are responsible for Oral Hygiene Education and referral to smoking cessation as needed. Lastly you will work with the Dentist to determine if the periodontal care we are providing is not sufficient and specialty referral is needed You will continually act as a patient advocate and perform those duties necessary to treat the patient as reflected in the mission of AHF.

The Registered Dental Hygienist can enhance the experience of other members of the Los Angeles Dental staff, by lending a helpful hand when needed, and thinking of their role as collaborative, rather than exclusive. In addition, giving feedback to their manager about how service could be improved and allow the team members to enhance their contribution.

The Registered Dental Hygienist adds value to the Los Angeles Dental Team by adapting to various situations with ease and by being flexible.
