We are currently seeking a Dental Hygienist (Registered) for our Jackson Heights location.
Position Summary: Performs basic dental care tasks, focused on keeping patients’ teeth and gums clean and achieving optimal oral health in patients. Responsible for the direct provision of oral hygiene and appropriate preventive services to dental patients of the center. The Registered Dental Hygienist will also be responsible for providing appropriate oral health information to individuals and groups.
Qualifications: New York State licensure as a Dental Hygienist required; Current CPR (BLS) certification; Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word); Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record software – eClinicalWorks a plus); Ability to work as part of a health care team; Excellent Customer Service Skills; Ability to multitask to also handle some of the functions of the Dental Assistant during absence/peak patient flow periods; Ability to stand, walk or sit for an extended period of time; Ability to hear within normal range; Strong verbal and written communications skills; Ability to see within normal range; Finger and hand dexterity to manipulate objects; Ability to deal with agitated clients
