What You’ll Do:
This position works under the general direction of the Office Chief for Chronic Disease & Population Health. The Cancer Program Administrator position is responsible for providing both long-range vision and leadership for the day-to-day operations and activities for the Cancer Program. This includes strategic planning, development, and evaluation while ensuring successful program outcomes in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
This position also develops and monitors budgets and expenditures, manages and leads the reporting of all related grants and/or contracts. Guides strategic planning, technical assistance, training, health communications with partners, stakeholders, and program staff, to identify opportunities for integration and collaboration; develop critical relationships with internal and external partners, including community-based organizations, coalitions, county health departments, tribal nations, and community health centers.
The Cancer Program Administrator ensures the accomplishment of the agency’s division’s and bureau’s and Office of Chronic Disease & Population health vision, mission, goals, and objectives, and ensures successful outcomes for the Well Woman HealthCheck Program (WWHP) and support and partnership for the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCC). In the absence of the Office Chief, this position will have the authority to make program decisions.
– Bachelor of Public Health or related field, and at least 5 years experience managing complex programs with multiple funding sources; Master’s degree in Public Health or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience. Academic training and continuing education, classes and internships/fieldwork in public health management, professional experience.
