What You’ll Do:
– This position serves as a senior-level professional epidemiologist responsible for carrying out a broad and complex range of investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities related to the surveillance, detection, and prevention of diseases and injuries. SAS coding is essential for success in this role.

– You’ll also plan and conduct epidemiologic studies and urgent outbreak investigations. Coordinates and communicates evidence-based interventions and/or control measures in response to epidemiologic findings. Identify and evaluate a wide range of health conditions within an assigned program.

– Specifically, the Cancer Registry Senior Epidemiologist is responsible for the following: analyzes cancer data; designs, implements, and performs cancer epidemiological studies; investigates cancer concerns, develops cancer protocols and coordinates with other agencies; produces detailed cancer reports; provides cancer data and responds to data requests from outside partners, communities, and the public; coordinates data linkages and approved research projects; coordinates national data submissions and supports data activities required of the federal grant; works closely with and supports data needs of other ADHS cancer and chronic disease programs. Requires in state and out-of-state travel.

Selective Preference(s):

Masters of public health and at least one year of professional experience in applied public health epidemiology OR a Bachelor’s degree with coursework in epidemiology, health education, biostatistics, or a related field and at least two years of professional experience public health practice.
