Overview

Position Purpose
The Director, Recruitment and Admissions, is responsible for the year-over-year admissions and recruitment strategy. The individual is charged with ensuring strong member relationships and knowledge of the centralized application service (CAS) by overseeing member engagement groups and providing or connecting members with appropriate training opportunities. The Director will plan and lead all student recruitment activities and prospective student communication, pivoting the strategy as necessary. The Director works closely with staff lead for student engagement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the year-over-year admissions and recruitment strategy, including event scheduling and data tracking
  • Handle member issues related to the centralized application service (CAS), or other technical issues related to ASPPH recruitment and admissions services
  • Oversee the CAS advisory council and related member engagement group(s)
  • Ensure member satisfaction related to recruitment and admissions efforts
  • Develop and lead student recruitment efforts, including events, communications, and web content
  • Develop and evolve public health admissions and CAS training for staff at member institutions and support CAS training for individual institutions
  • Monitor and evaluate admissions data for recruitment effectiveness, trends, and potential issues
  • Support member recruitment in relation to CAS promotion
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with a centralized application service and/or graduate admissions service required; public health admissions experience preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to:
    • Set priorities and implement strategy
    • Lead projects and initiatives
    • Work independently, initiate project activities, and handle multiple tasks
    • Collaborate effectively with others
    • Perform with accuracy and effectiveness

Education
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in higher education administration, public health, or a related degree is preferred.

Additional Information

Reports To: The position reports to the Senior Director of Outreach and Recruitment.

Manages/Supervises: The position supervises one staff member.

Travel Requirements: The position may involve occasional travel related to the position’s professional responsibilities.

Compensation: The position’s compensation level is based on industry salary surveys and the individual’s experience. ASPPH offers a generous benefits package.
