Overview
To develop, maintain, and present data informatic tools and best practices for data-intensive research within the Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute at Brown University and related projects. This position will assist with developing and implementing policies to streamline aspects of data collection, acquisition, visualization, distribution, security, and grant/IRB reporting tasks for multiple research projects.
This position will serve as the data manager for several research projects to develop and maintain operational databases for data collection and study participant tracking; support faculty, staff, and students in obtaining and accessing data required for analysis; and provide expertise on systems development and utilization to Hassenfeld Institute collaborators. Position will require oversight of data entry and cleaning, basic statistical analysis and reporting, creating data visualizations, maintaining documentation, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and quality of the data.
The ideal candidate will be a quick and eager learner; be flexible, detail-oriented, organized, service-oriented, and resourceful; have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills; and have specific experience and expertise in research projects programming and utilizing survey software (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics), statistical software (e.g., SAS, Stata, R), and relational database management systems (e.g., Access, SQL).
