CommonHealth ACTION seeks a mid-career Evaluation professional to manage and lead development of our expanding portfolio of program evaluations and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) assessments. This position will lead our Evaluation Team with the opportunity to lead various projects and programmatic efforts for CommonHealth ACTION clients and team members (e.g., our EDI Training Institute, implementation of technical assistance and capacity building, organizational change efforts, staff development and training, etc.).

Consultant agreements are typically for one year with the option of renewal. This position will remain open until filled and candidates selected will be interviewed on a rolling basis.  This contract will be for 20-40 hours a week until June 30, 2023, with the potential of renewal as new projects are secured. The compensation range is $40 – $55 per hour. Projected start date: September 12, 2022 (flexible).

CONSULTANT POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Senior Manager of Evaluations will lead a small team in designing, managing, and implementing EDI assessments and other evaluation processes for diverse client projects and programs. The Consultant will contribute to strengthening CommonHealth ACTION’s organizational and staff capacity in designing and implementing effective and robust evaluation methodologies, tools, and techniques for measuring transformation and impact at the organizational and individual levels of our clients and program participants. This position requires the ability to present with confidence and conciseness and provide ongoing feedback to diverse client groups on an ongoing basis. In addition, this position requires strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills as well as the ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, team leadership, and political acumen.

CONSULTANT ACTIVITIES

  • Lead Evaluation Team in building and monitoring the team’s capacity for managing client relationships, implementing effective processes and practices, navigating team dynamics, delivering high-quality work products, expanding and managing our pool of evaluation consultants.
  • Provide leadership regarding effective evaluation models, methods, and systems.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage program timelines, human capital, and budgets to ensure timely, high- quality, and error-free deliverables.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Design and manage single and multi-site assessment and evaluation efforts.
  • Liaise with client contacts in a respectful, timely manner to ensure smooth evaluation efforts.
  • Facilitate key informant interviews, focus groups, and other related evaluation activities; train others and manage quality improvement efforts.
  • Work closely with our other teams (ex. Strategy) to ensure data collection and analysis informs and supports other deliverables.
  • Facilitate small and large group meetings.
  • Prepare findings reports and conduct presentations with clients and funders.
  • Research peer review and other articles and document resources.
  • Develop visual and other content for data reports. Develop publications and reports through collaborative writing.
  • Contribute to organizational strategy, business development, and planning.
  • Seek and build relationships with individuals and organizations to create opportunities for new business.
  • Serve as programmatic liaison to external partners, including representing CommonHealth ACTION at national, regional, and local meetings.

QUALIFCATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 8 years of evaluation and progressive management experience and responsibility. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in evaluation design and qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
  • Experience using statistical analysis tools such as SPSS and Excel.
  • Experience in conducting multi-site evaluations is a plus.
  • Experience in project and/or program management.
  • Understanding of change and change management in organizations, communities, institutions, and systems.
  • Advanced understanding of public health and EDI concepts (such as power, privilege, and oppression), including both theory- and practice-based knowledge.
  • Experience working with executive leadership and as a technical assistant provider preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating difficult discussions and processes with groups from varying demographic backgrounds, experiences, and learning needs.
  • Microsoft Office skills required (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Publisher a plus)
  • Experience conducting Web research.
  • Experience with web and social media tools such as Zoom, WebEx, Teams Meetings, Smartsheet, Canva, Constant Contact, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. preferred.
