Children and Family Health Unit: The Health Services Manager (HSM) in this position provides supervision to several Supervising Public Health Nurse III’s and oversees and supports various Children and Family Health programs.  The preferred HSM candidate has experience as a nursing supervisor, or exposure to working in a public health related field with knowledge of case management for children and families in a variety of settings.  Additional experience in reflective supervision, and any other management/supervision courses are preferred.  Ideal candidates will demonstrate commitment to promoting racial health equity and providing trauma informed care.

Community Health Education Unit: The Health Services Manager (HSM) of Community Health Education (CHE) is responsible for the supervision of several Senior Health Educators and an Admin Aide and supports administration of budgets, contracts and oversight of several programs including, Tobacco Education Program, Oral Health, Safe & Active Transportation, Cal-Fresh Healthy Living and the Medical Marijuana Identification Card Program. The ideal HSM candidate for this position has a Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in Community Health Education.

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Health Services program administration.

Working knowledge of:

·         Community resources and health services available for the assigned program

·         Health terminology

·         The cost and funding sources of health care for the assigned program

·         Complex psycho-social problems affecting the population served
