Responsibilities
Florida State University College of Nursing Center of Population Sciences for Health Equity seeks to fill two postdoctoral fellow positions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Pursue extramural research funding.
    Develop a research program

Qualifications
Candidates must hold an earned doctorate from within the past five years and have a record of scholarly productivity.

  • Interest or experience with research addressing social determinants of health especially relating to race, sexual identity, gender identity, ethnicity, immigration, and intersectional stigma.
  • Interest or experience with research addressing sexual health, violence, mental health, and/or healthcare engagement.
  • Experience with qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods research, including at least some of the following: proposal writing, protocol development, data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
  • The ability to write clearly about scientific concepts.

Preferred

  • Spanish language and/or Portuguese language proficiency desired.
  • Interest or experience in health research in Latin American, Indigenous/Native American and Black/African-American populations in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean (including Panama and Brazil).
  • Candidates will ideally have experience or interest in one or more of the following:HIV and STI prevention including Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), e-health interventions, and/or vaccines. Co-morbid conditions among people living with HIV including sleep, hypertension, and or chronic pain.
  • Experience or interest in mental health including the impacts of violence, trauma and stigma on health outcomes as well as epigenetics.
  • Interest or experience in community-engaged research practices especially among sexual and gender minority populations and/or Black, indigenous, Latinx, and other communities of color.
  • History of disseminating research findings through presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
