Exempt, non-civil service, full-time, temporary appointment. The primary purposes of this position are leading the OHE
community outreach and public health education efforts for the COVID-19 pandemic response and advancing health equity
through community engagement and support to mitigate and prevent COVID-19 for Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander,
Filipino (NHPIF), and other communities that have limited-English proficiency, low-digital technology, and low-health
literacy. The position will engage and collaborate with the Community Network, a significant and critical group of engaged
organizations representing NHPIF populations disproportionately impacted by hospitalization and death from COVID-19. In
order to address these critical needs, this position’s duties include the following: 1) assessment and monitoring of
community education needs, 2) collaboration with subject matter experts and members of the Community Network, and
procurement of translation and graphic design services to develop culturally and linguistically appropriate and scientifically
accurate materials, 3) coordination on the development and implementation of the OHE communications plan and
organization of paid and earned media opportunities, 4) coordination of support for and response to legislative bills and
resolutions related to COVID-19 pandemic response and advancing health equity, and 5) monitoring and evaluating program
activities to ensure compliance with grant and fiscal requirements.
