Overview

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related field and two years of experience in data quality control, data quality improvement and data collection; OR an Associates degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

 

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the NYS Clinical Laboratory Information Management System (CLIMS) and the Health Commerce System (HCS); experience in a clinical or laboratory setting with laboratory data and workflows; experience with developing guidance documents; experience working with electronic clinical and laboratory reporting systems; excellent communication; interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access Databases. Experience with JavaScript, Rhapsody, Python, SQL or other scripting languages to query data is desirable.

Responsibilities
The Data Administrator IV will support tracking performance and usage of the Clinical Laboratory Information System (CLIMS), which is the lab system used for infectious disease related testing at Wadsworth Center. The incumbent will work with existing staff to support internal and external users to improve usage of the system and increase efficiency within the Division.

 

The incumbent will perform Quality Assurance and improvement activities. Duties will include but are not limited to contributing to the development and use of user guidance documents; providing direct user support for test ordering, managing and reporting results; contributing to the development and maintenance of data reports as required by grant. Perform other related duties.
