Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Public Health, Sciences, or related field and experience in data management and or data analysis; OR Associates degree and 4 years of such experience; OR 6 years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Public Health surveillance or epidemiology. Knowledge of relational database modeling particularly Oracle. Proficient in SQL and writing complex queries. Proficient with SAS/SAS PROC SQL. Experience with project management.

The Data Administrator IV will provide data quality assurance and control support. The incumbent will assist with the validation of HIV surveillance within systems used in the Bureau of HIV/AIDS Epidemiology. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data used for Bureau core functions. The incumbent will identify data in CDC’s Enhanced HIV/AIDS Reporting System (eHARS) that is not in the New York Electronic HIV Management System (NYEHMS) and reasons for discrepancies; identify data in NYEHMS but not in eHARS and reasons for discrepancies; assist in synchronizing data systems; interpret and document existing eHARS importing code; assist in developing, testing, and updating eHARS importing code documentation; execute, document, and validate eHARS imports.
