Overview

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of providing health education and/or developing health promotion materials/media; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• At least two years of health communication or education experience
• Experience writing or contributing to messaging for the public
• Experience developing complex scientific/technical information to produce clear and concise information
• Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Graphic design experience.
• Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite

Responsibilities
The Health Education Media Specialist II will contribute to the coordination and implementation of outreach and education deliverables associated with the CDC funded Building Resilience Against Climate Effects and other Center for Environmental Health programs. The incumbent will work within the Center for Environmental Health’s Outreach and Education Group and work to ensure that climate and health messaging is integrated among the Center’s educational materials, messaging, information graphics, communication plans, and other appropriate related duties as needed.
