Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of experience in the administration of personnel, fiscal, or other related operational activity; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.

 

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following: drug user health, substance use disorders, opioid use disorders, harm reduction, medication for opioid use disorder, public health program management, evaluation of policies and interventions relating to drug user health. Experience working with health care providers, government agencies, community groups and other organizations as necessary. Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, procedures, and policies.

Responsibilities
The Health Program Administrator will be located in the AIDS Institute’s Office of Drug User Health (ODUH) and will participate with activities related to the Healing Communities Study-New York (HCS) for the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). The incumbent will participate and manage contracts established with local partners, including drug user health hubs, syringe exchange programs, and local health departments. The incumbent will participate in and coordinate meetings with HCS, Columbia University, and other NYSDOH partners. The incumbent will develop a tracking system for all HCS requests for technical assistance. The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Program Coordinator to analyze HCS data dashboards and other data being collected across NYS related to overdoses. The analysis will help to ascertain ways to intersect the HCS dashboards into other drug overdose data sets.

 

The incumbent will stay abreast of harm reduction frameworks, drug user health; assist with activities related to the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) programs; assist to build partnerships and seek opportunities for internal and external collaboration and support; and perform other appropriate related duties.

 

This position is supported by the New York State Public Health Corps Fellowship Program.

 

Successful completion of the Public Health Essentials certificate program will be required.

 

This is a grant funded position, expected to last approximately one year.
