Overview

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience including coordination of projects/programs in a public health, health or human services related program; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

 

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.

Preferred Qualifications
Work experience in one or more of the following: drug user health, substance use disorders, opioid use disorders, harm reduction, medication for opioid use disorder, public health program management, evaluation of policies and interventions relating to drug user health. Experience working with health care providers, government agencies, community groups and other organizations as necessary. Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, procedures, and policies.

Responsibilities
The Health Program Coordinator I will be located in the AIDS Institute’s Office of Drug User Health (ODUH) and will be responsible for performing duties related to the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) CDC cooperative agreement for the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH). The incumbent will assist in the coordination of contract management activities established with Local Health Departments. The incumbent will develop a tracking system for all requests for technical assistance. The incumbent will analyze OD2A data, NYS data dashboards and other data being collected across NYS related to overdoses.

 

This position is supported by the New York State Public Health Corps Fellowship Program.

 

Successful completion of the Public Health Essentials certificate program will be required.
