Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of experience in the coordination of administrative, financial, human resources, operations or other program activities; OR an Associates degree in a related field and three years of such experience; OR five years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

 

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in public health, a related social or behavioral science or a health related field. Experience working with infectious disease populations in clinical or community based organizations, consumer groups and ancillary organizations like pharmacies, managed care organizations and county health departments. Experience with quality improvement methods, data collection and analysis. Experience using Zoom, Webex and other web based tools to reach audiences virtually. Experience facilitating or presenting meetings and webinars.

 

Responsibilities

The Program Assistant I will work in the Office of the Medical Director and will provide administrative and programmatic support toward improving health outcomes among communities heavily impacted by HIV and HIV/STI comorbidities. The incumbent will support the COVID-19 recovery and work to reinvigorate the 11 regions (statewide) that make up NYLinks. The incumbent will assist in monitoring, coordinating and facilitating regional meeting logistics, assess the need for virtual content and assist to develop that content through either regionally specific or state wide presentations; interact with public health and medical providers, members and staff of community based organizations, and actively participate in activities related to Ending the Epidemic and recovery from COVID; assist in the development of organizational profiles; and perform other appropriate related duties.

 

This position is supported by the New York State Public Health Corps Fellowship Program.

 

Successful completion of the Public Health Essentials certificate program will be required.

 

This is a grant funded position, expected to last approximately one year.
