Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR an Associate degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience; OR a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.

 

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in sponsored research administration. Budget preparation experience. Knowledge of federal cost principles, Uniform Guidance. Experience using a financial management system. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Customer service experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities, resourcefulness and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for providing operational support to the Office of Sponsored Programs. Specific responsibilities include: providing general information to NYSDOH Scientists, Administrators, and outside funding agencies; assisting with budget projections and analysis; assisting in maintaining/analyzing several computer databases used by the Senior Grant Assistant to track, follow-up and resolve issues; responding to general account inquiries and other related duties. The Sr. Grant Assistant will assist with account maintenance responsibilities, additional assistance with report development and operational support activities, and responsibility for keeping internal policies and procedures updated on the shared drive. Other related duties as assigned.
