Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience providing direct patient/client services in a health, human service or community-based organization, or institutional setting; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. At least one year of experience must include program management and/or supervision of staff.

 

A valid driver’s license in good standing.

 

The incumbent(s) hired into this position must live within commuting distance to the official work location. The incumbent(s) who relocate to New York State (NYS) for this position will be required to obtain a NYS driver’s license. NYS requires new residents to obtain a license within 30 days of becoming a resident.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have internet access.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field. HIV/STD related experience or knowledge in HIV/STD testing, partner services, prevention, and surveillance. Experience with program or project management. Experience in the coordination of continuous quality improvement activities. Demonstrated understanding of social determinants of health and their impact on how New York residents may access, engage, and sexual health services, mental health, and social services.

Responsibilities
The Public Health Representative IV will be located in the Bureau of HIV and STI Field Services (BHSFS) within the Division of Epidemiology, Evaluation, and Partner Services (DEEP) and will work within the Central New York Regional Office (CNYRO). The incumbent will coordinate and contribute toward program planning and implementation activities, including contributing to the development of policies and procedures; coordinating the day-to-day activities of the HIV and STI Field Services program in the CNYRO; coordinating and monitoring activities for established regional monitoring and outcome evaluation plan to ensure compliance with goals and objectives of BHSFS and DEEP; supervising and training staff tasked with interrupting transmission networks and ensuring patients are linked to care and treatment and that partners receive education, disease screening and treatment; and representing the BHSFS, DEEP and the AIDS Institute; and perform other appropriate related duties.

Travel will be required 25% – 50% of the time.
