The Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences (OccHealthSci/the Institute) at OHSU is hiring a Senior Outreach Manager to design and deliver Education, Training, and Partnership activities, including our Total Worker Health portfolio. The Senior Outreach Manager will serve as the Institute’s lead for practitioner education including the development and delivery of the Institute’s groundbreaking Total Worker Health curriculum. The practitioner curriculum is the flagship offering of the Oregon Total Worker Health Alliance, a unique collaboration between the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OR-OSHA), the SAIF Corporation, and the Institute. The Senior Outreach Manager serves as a member of the Institute Outreach team as well as the Outreach Core for the Oregon Healthy Workforce Center, a Total Worker Health Center of Excellence funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and health (NIOSH). This is a highly visible role that works closely with Institute stakeholders and partners in Oregon and nationally. This position reports to the Director of Outreach Operations and works in collaboration with Institute faculty and the Outreach team to convert Institute research into practice through communications and dissemination, education and training, and implementation of partnerships. The overarching goal of outreach is to impact safety, health, and well-being of workers across Oregon and beyond.

About Institute of Occupational Health Sciences at Oregon Health and Science University

The Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences is an independent research institute within OHSU that is dedicated to health and safety in the workplace. Its mission is to promote well-being and prevent disease and disability among working Oregonians. The Institute fulfills its mission through basic, clinical and applied research, outreach, and education. The Institute receives core funding from the Oregon Workers’ Compensation Fund. It leverages this base funding to secure federal government grants in basic, clinical, and applied research. The Institute’s funding in 2021 was > $10 million. The Institute is also home to the Oregon Healthy Workforce Center (OHWC). OHWC is one of 10 Total Worker HealthCenters of Excellence funded by the National institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The OHWC conducts research, outreach, and education to improve worker safety, health, and well-being.
