Are you passionate about making behavioral healthcare services accessible for everyone? We’re looking for a skilled and organized professional with a strong administrative background to lead our team. The Behavioral Health Community Services (BHCS) division of Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) provides behavioral health treatment and support in the community and in a center-based crisis day respite program. This position is located in the greater New Orleans area. Meetings take place at JPHSA facilities in Marrero, Elmwood, and Metairie.


  • Manages operations of Behavioral Health Community Services Division (BHCS)
  • Ensures staff members provide positive, trauma-informed, person/family-centered services to community
  • Directs development and implementation of annual division plan and reports progress to Executive Director regularly
  • Supervises and hires staff in BHCS and participates in recruiting initiatives
  • Collaborates with JPHSA’s Chief Financial Officer to develop and manage annual operating budget of BHCS
  • Ensures compliance with grant requirements and Council on Accreditation (COA) standards
  • Initiates corrective and/or performance and quality improvement actions when needed
  • Oversees division-based contracts for programs and services, including ensuring deliverables, outcome measures, and budgets are on target
  • Seeks new funding sources to support program and service sustainability and enhancement
  • Serves as member of Executive Management Team
  • Participates in the development, review, and communication of policies
  • Prepares and submits data/reports as required by parish, state/federal government, or grantors
  • Attends and participates in regional advisory boards and task forces

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Masters in social services field
  • Three or more years of administrative experience
  • High ethical standards and personal integrity
  • Proven track record as an effective and organized team leader
  • Commitment to improving behavioral outcomes by supporting best practices
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to communicate and interact pleasantly and effectively at different levels with different audiences
  • Ability to work in a culturally competent way and consistently treat all with dignity and respect
  • Great time management with organizational skills required to set priorities and manage workload

  • Competitive Salary: Up to $100,000 per year (depending on education and experience)
