Position: Child and Youth Violence Prevention Epidemiologist, in the Office of Statistics and Evaluation

Join this essential program—Child and Youth Violence Prevention Unit —identifying youth violence health disparities in an effort to consistently recognize and eliminate inequities while addressing both the social determinants of health and root causes of youth violence.

Working to help measure the impact of funded programs on state violence goals, this position is instrumental in providing continuous quality improvement to enhance the public health practices of the CYVPU. Furthermore, the incumbent has the opportunity to provide data to inform strategic planning, coordinated communication, information dissemination, and cross-departmental initiatives related to youth violence data to help improve health equities across the Commonwealth.

Our ideal candidate is:

  • passionate about and familiar with the social determinants of health and their measurement;
  • has at least 6 years of experience in epidemiology;
  • supports a team environment through supportive supervision and mentorship, and
  • has a deep understanding of research and evaluation methods that assess policy, systems, and environmental changes through a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
