Position: Operations & Policy Coordinator

The Office of Local and Regional Health (OLRH) Operations & Policy Coordinator is a key member of the OLRH team, responsible for managing the daily operational needs of the office. Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Policy, the Coordinator represents the OLRH team to internal DPH groups, collaborating with these departments to further implement OLRH’s vision. The Coordinator is also responsible for collaborating with OLRH employees on various projects, including coordinating the drafting of legislative reports and designing and implementing an operational infrastructure to meet the office’s growing needs.

The Operations & Policy Coordinator monitors relevant local public health policies and provides vital operations information to the Office. The Coordinator collaborates with the fiscal team to manage, track, and disperse funding, and updates OLRH staff on new rules and regulations. As the hiring lead for the Office, the Coordinator works with hiring managers and the human resources team to oversee all aspects of the hiring process including job creation, recruitment, funding, interview planning and onboarding. In addition, the Coordinator supports the design of an operational infrastructure and manages its implementation office wide, including the development of systems, policies, processes, resources and tools that are accessible, equitable, and adaptive to a diversity of needs. Overall, the Operations & Policy Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the OLRH team in meeting federal and state milestones and advises the OLRH team on DPH operational policies and procedures.

Our ideal candidate is:

  • passionate about government operations and implementing legislative policies;
  • familiar with the social determinants of health and their measurement;
  • has at least four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration
  • a deep understanding of the principles and practices of operations and administration, organizational development, and quality improvement.
