Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to reduce the incidence of sexual violence in New Mexico through program evaluation. The incumbent will make use of epidemiological surveillance principles of studying and analyzing the distribution, incidence, prevalence, severity, and temporal-spatial patterns of sexual violence. In addition to applying the principles of epidemiology, the incumbent will make use of the principles for program evaluation, prevention practice, public health theory and quality improvement practices to achieve this goal. The incumbent will participate as an active member of the sexual violence prevention team by contributing prevention program planning, assisting in prevention partner capacity building and participating in policy development efforts.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree and possess knowledge if not experience in public health surveillance, program evaluation, data management, weighted survey analysis and analysis of data using SAS, R, and/or STATA statistical packages. The candidate should be able interpret statistical results and presentation these findings to different audiences.
