Overview

This position is based within the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Unit, a team within Public Health Solutions’ larger Neighborhood Health Division that implements several direct service and capacity building programs throughout New York City.

The Training Coordinator will support the SRH Unit’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Capacity Building Program (SRH-CBP), an innovative approach to improving the quality and accessibility of SRH services and outcomes in NYC and beyond.

The Training Coordinator will provide administrative and training support for the Title X family planning program including but not limited to managing training and webinar registrations, training/webinar related evaluations, and online platform (in-person meeting) logistics, contribute to the development of new training content and materials, co-deliver training and webinars, and provide additional training support as needed for sites in capacity building initiatives.  Current SRH-CB collaboratives include the City Council funded Beyond the Basics Quality Improvement Learning Collaborative (BTB-QILC); the Partnership to Advance Integrated Referrals (PAIR), a Clinical Pilot Study funded by the Office of Population Affairs, DHHS; and the program additionally supports PHS’ other programs through training and technical assistance.

The training coordinator will collaborate with and provide training, TA, and administrative support as needed to the other SRH-CB teams members, including the SRH Senior Director, SRH Director, Title X Project Director, Title X Senior Program Manager, SRH-CB Program Manager, and SRH-CB Quality Improvement Specialist.

Specifically, the Training Coordinator will:

Assist the Training Manager to adapt existing curricula, teaching tools, and related materials to current best practice guidelines as issued in nationally recognized standards of care.
Co-facilitate trainings and learning sessions and moderate webinars with assistance of other SRH Unit program staff and/or guest consultant facilitators.
Assist the Training Manager in recording and analyzing training attendance and evaluation data.
Contribute to development of new curriculum materials and assist with identifying consultants/external collaborators as needed.
For all training and webinars, manage training/webinar calendars, registration, logistics, materials/supplies preparation, participant evaluations, and day-of set up and break down as needed.
Contribute to grant reporting when requested, by providing written updates on in-person and virtual training activities, results of training evaluations and participant feedback, etc.
Assist Training Manager with research and strategy related to training offerings and possible expansion of trainings outside of QILC structures.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

Associate degree or equivalent and/or 1-2 years relevant experience.
Relevant health/wellness training and facilitation experience required.
Interest or prior experience in issues related to sexual and reproductive health, reproductive justice, adolescent health, LGBTQ+ affirming care, health equity (or some subset/combination of these) preferred.
Attention to detail as well as excellent time management, organizational, and oral and written communication skills required.
Strong facilitation and oratory skills required, including abilities to adapt to the needs of diverse audiences and facilitate discussion of sensitive material.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as external stakeholders, virtually.
A successful candidate will possess a willingness to learn (including self-identifying opportunities to grow knowledge and skills) and receive constructive feedback to succeed as a facilitator.
