Reporting to the Executive Director of Health Equity Initiatives, the Senior Director will oversee the management of staff, budget, and operations of the Public Health Equity Initiatives, any programs that drive the health equity moves for Purdue University. This will be an interdisciplinary, university wide effort that will be led by the Executive and Senior Director. The Senior Director will be expected to represent Health Equity Initiatives at state, national and international meetings and venues. This position will oversee all activities including proposal writing, project management, organizing symposia/meetings, collecting metrics, and supplying information to Health Equity Task Force.



A terminal degree in a health-related discipline (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD) that is relevant to public health and health equity
5 years of experience managing large projects (>$1 million in scope)
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered (Master’s and 7 years or Bachelor’s and 9 years of experience)
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Experience with utilizing common computer software including Microsoft office products
Must be self-motivated and have ability to exercise sound judgment in prioritizing tasks employing critical-thinking problem-solving methodologies
Knowledge of the complexities of public health equity, and an aptitude for innovation and initiative
A strong commitment to the vision of Purdue becoming a leader in public health and health equity


Experience with the creation of launching new initiatives
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or regulatory bodies
Experience managing interdisciplinary public health projects
Experience managing all levels of scientists/engineers
Experience with statistical analyses
General knowledge of university business procedures and policies
