Your Role and Impact
Leading a dynamic and passionate team of Business Development and Client Partners, our Director of Business Development for the Public Sector is responsible for establishing and overseeing all new and current business development objectives for the Public Health Sector. This role is both supervisory and revenue-generating in nature. The person in this position must be able to see the big picture and think strategically, as well as roll up their sleeves to complete the work and execute. This sales leader ideally has a background in health services and/or public health and government contracting at the state and federal levels. The top candidate will be a high-energy and experienced leader with a demonstrated track record in developing and implementing long-term and short-term strategic sales and account growth plans. This candidate will have a history of understanding the dynamics of working with a nimble and fast paced entrepreneurial culture while bringing in more formal sales operational processes that will facilitate the growth of the business.

Drawing from your extensive experience in cultivating client relationships, establishing strategic growth plans, and capturing and growing revenue within the Public Sector, you will play a critical role in improving health outcomes for organizations and consumers all around the country utilizing our innovative solutions.

• Drive sales excellence, top-line revenue growth, and execution of service line offerings by instilling best practices and operational rigor across the entire sales process, spanning prospect identification and acquisition, pipeline forecasting, account planning, project qualification and sales cycle management within the Public Health Sector of the Growth Team.
• Proactively seek opportunities to promote STC’s services and technology solutions to meet current and future government client needs and address the evolving healthcare environment.
• Collaborate with executive teams and cross functional department heads to ensure the company’s Business Development priorities are understood and aligned with the overall company direction.
• Act as an innovative strategist who is driven to find new and better ways to reach target clients. Identify industry trends and opportunities where our team can speak and offer expertise to expand our area of influence.
• Analyze our buyer personas and current demand generation strategy to assess opportunities for improvement.
• Establish the baseline KPIs and measurables for success.
• Establish and continue to evolve key strategic relationships.
• Demonstrate strategic and technical selling skills and product knowledge in all product offerings.
• Assess and continue the development of a strong sales team through effective recruitment, mentoring and leadership.
• Champion usage of our CRM system, and drive sales organization with metrics and goals.
• Collect and analyze market research, customer research, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities, issues, and risks.
• Leverage customer insights to identify business opportunities and product strategies.

• Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing, MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of sales management experience in health services and/or public health and proven ability to grow and lead a sales organization.
• Strong business judgment and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize and articulate highest impact initiatives.
• Excel at designing and articulating complex client proposals.
• Organized and capable of managing a robust pipeline of business development, sales, and partnership opportunities.
• A change agent with highly evolved influencing skills.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Superb analytical skills and strategic thinking.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team.
• Flexibility, integrity, and humility.
• Deep understanding of changing market dynamics.
• Ability to travel 30-50%.
