The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH), Community, Family Health and Prevention Section seeks a qualified individual for the position of Health Program Assistant 2. This position resides in the Cancer Program and will work on cancer prevention and control initiatives.

The Cancer program provides screening, diagnostic and treatment services to low income, uninsured and underinsured Connecticut residents. The position is located in Hartford, CT. This is a full-time, 35 hours per week position. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday. Eligible to telework up to 50%.

This position will be responsible for monitoring public health contracts, including developing budgets and tracking expenditures, and will work in close collaboration with multiple public health programs, various sections of the department, and contractors and vendors. Collecting clinic data and implementing evidence-based interventions. Responsibilities will also include developing health promotion messaging for agency web pages and assisting with the development of media and public education initiatives using a variety of delivery approaches, including social media.
