Job Description:

This new role calls for an experienced professional who can provide strong, collaborative leadership in integrating Student Counseling and Health Services, and the Office of Accessibility Services to support student success. The Wellness Center Director will be responsible for identifying gaps or redundancies in services and streamlining workflows amongst the areas they manage.  The Director, in coordination with their team, will develop programming for both students and staff to raise awareness of health and mental health issues and to promote help-seeking behavior.

The Wellness Center is comprised of a team of nurses, mental health professionals, disability specialists, testing center proctors, and support personnel whose focus is on mental health, health and wellness promotion and education, crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and referral services.   Through events, workshops, and community contacts, the Center staff responds to the needs of students and engages them in fostering healthy behaviors and lifestyle choices.

The Director is a student-centered, culturally responsive individual who will lead our Wellness Center and manage the day-to-day operations and activities. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Engagement and Completion, the incumbent provides program direction for the Center, implements and regularly assesses programs and initiatives. The Director stays current with national issues, trends, and best-practice standards in college health, mental health, and support services. The Director works with community partners to ensure that students have referral sources beyond the scope of the Wellness Center.

Requirements:

Education Required    Master’s degree or higher in Health Administration, Public or Community Health, School Counseling, Business or Public Administration, Counseling Psychology or a related field.

Experience Required  A minimum of four years of experience delivering culturally sensitive health, mental health or accommodations services to a diverse client population; must have experience in crisis management and response; two years of demonstrated supervisory and administrative experience; excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

4 or more years of experience delivering mental health, health services or academic accommodations to students in a higher education setting with a successful record of accomplishment of addressing issues of equity and inclusion with students, faculty, and administrators
Excellent managerial leadership skills including the ability to develop and implement strategic objectives, to motivate staff, and to effectively manage resources
Knowledge of local and national issues, trends and best practice standards in college health and mental health.
Experience in Ellucian Banner

Fluency in Spanish

Salary: This position has a budgeted annual salary of $57,447-$76,117.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.  This is a Staff & Chair Grade 70 12 month position.
