Overview

The Department of Public Health Sciences at the UConn School of Medicine seeks to fill a 12-month, full-salary, tenured or tenure track position focused on infectious diseases.  The successful candidate will have doctoral training in epidemiology and expertise in the analysis of population level data regarding pathogen transmission and mechanisms of infectious disease control. We welcome applications from candidates for senior rank who demonstrate national visibility through an ongoing record of extramural funding and publications, as well as applications from candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor who have completed post-doctoral training and offer evidence of independent scholarship and research productivity. Candidates who combine methodological interests with experience in field epidemiology, data collection and collaboration with public health agencies on the study of emerging infections and population disease control strategies are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Public Health Sciences is expanding its faculty to address the challenges and opportunities of a dynamic global society.  We offer an MPH, PhD and certificates in disability studies and health disparities and are key contributors to our School’s medical/dental curriculum.  In addition to a its substantial extramural portfolio, our faculty has a strong culture of collaborative and integrative work, conducting research across a range of subjects and maintaining extensive associations with international, national, state and local health agencies.  Opportunities for collaborative work with our State’s Department of Public Health and regional healthcare delivery systems are plentiful.
