The Assistant (tenure track) Professor of Community Health will: a) engage in scholarship that advances the Department’s portfolio of public health research; b) teach in our undergraduate, masters and doctoral program(s); and c) contribute professional service to the institution, community, and discipline. The Department of Public Health Sciences includes 30 full-time faculty serving over 1500 undergraduate and 200 graduate students. Eligible candidates must have a doctoral degree in public health or a closely related area by August 2023. Preferred candidates will have earned an MPH. The extent to which the candidate can contribute to the mission and vision (https://publichealth.charlotte.edu/about-us) of the Department will be considered.
Applicants with research agendas in the areas of: cancer and other chronic diseases; maternal and child health; sexually transmitted infections; suicide, violence and/or injury prevention; and physical activity and nutrition are encouraged to apply. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience related to behavioral theories, health promotion interventions and/or program planning and evaluation and/or can demonstrate effective teaching of students from socially and historically marginalized populations.
