HSC Health is the academic clinical practice for the Health Science Center. Focused on improving health outcomes to build a healthier community, HSC Health primary and multispecialty care clinics are located on the HSC campus as well as an off-site obstetrics and gynecology location in the Fort Worth medical district. Our care teams extend to local hospitals, surgery centers, long-term and continuing care centers, and mobile and in-home care. HSC Health’s interprofessional teams work collaboratively to achieve an optimized treatment plan tailored to the individual patient. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, specialized technicians, and nurses work together while intentionally integrating health care students, residents, and fellows to deliver care to our community.

HSC Health Pediatrics at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a LVN to join our team.

Job Duties:

  • Administer prescribed medications, noting times and amounts on patients’ charts.
  • Returns patient calls according to policy and documents all patient encounters and performs Telephone Triage
  • Measure and record patients’ vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
  • Perform catheterization and administer oxygen.
  • Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
  • Provides oversight of medical assistants in collaboration with the clinic supervisor/manager.
  • Assemble and use equipment such as nebulizers, or oxygen supplies.
  • Completes patient forms as necessary utilizing the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Administer injections, and accurately calculate the dosage of medications.
  • Manages refill requests and completes prescription prior authorizations.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations for referrals and procedures.
  • Possesses the ability to work as a team member and has the ability to maintain a positive attitude, cohesive work environment, and enthusiasm to assist in the delivery of quality care to patients.
  • Provide support to medical assistants.
  • Follows all departmental and organizational policies and procedures with regard to patient safety, quality management, infection control, and human resources.
  • Adapts to procedures for individual/clinic needs without jeopardizing patient safety and quality of care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and two (2) years of related experience. A valid Texas LVN License and a current CPR (BLS) certificate are required.
