The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health is currently accepting applications to fill a full-time, 12-month open rank tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science. All research areas in biostatistics and data science will be considered, and applicants with expertise in statistical methods development and theory are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include methodological/theoretical and collaborative research, teaching, mentorship of graduate students, and service. The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate-level statistical methodology and theory courses, and have experience and interest in statistical applications in any area of public health, biomedical andor clinical studies.
Position Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field is required. Candidates are required to have their doctoral degree by the appointment starting time, and the rank of the appointment will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience. The successful candidate for the Associate or Full Professor rank is expected to have a track record of external funding. In particular, experience or expertise in epidemic modeling of infectious diseases for preparedness of next pandemic is a plus.
The Department of Biostatistics and Data Science at the UTHealth School of Public Health has a 40+-year history at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and is committed to excellence in research, education and collaboration services in biostatistics and data science.
